Company History
Originally founded by Henry Luhrs in the 1830s, Luhrs boats was a builder of high-quality fishing boats with a deep vee hull under the Luhrs Marine Group, which owned many other well-known boat brands. Learn more about the builder below, and search by boat costs, length, year, and more.
Founded in the 1830s by German immigrant Henry Luhrs, the company built top-quality mid-size fishing boats under the umbrella of the Luhrs Marine Group, which also owned and operated Silverton, Mainship and Hunter boats. The boats were built in Millville, NJ, but declared bankruptcy and ceased operations in early 2008 – at the head of the Global Financial Crisis. The boats cost anywhere from $10,000 to over $300,000.
There are still a number of Luhrs models on the brokerage market with various boat costs for different budgets. Their displacement hulls are designed with a deep vee that are perfect for day trips and overnight cruising or for those who like to enjoy sport fishing.
